The Most Expensive Home in the World - Updown Court, England

Updown Court in Windlesham, England is the most expensive home in the world

Forbes brings us the “Most Expensive Home in the World” as part of its Most Expensive Things 2005 list. At a whopping $122.2 million, the 58 acre, 103 room Updown Court palace in Windlesham, England is 50 percent above the asking price on the most expensive home in the US, Three Ponds at Bridgehampton, New York at $75 million.

Updown Court is not an ancient castle - it’s a new palace and features five swimming pools, a bowling alley, 50-seat screening room, heated marble driveway and 24-carat-gold leafing on the floor of the study. Neighbors include England’s royals at Windsor Castle and Elton John.
